Across Feb & March 2021, LEAP has run a 6-part webinar series on PTC Windchill which has provided an in depth look at the core capabilities of Windchill and highlights examples of how companies around the world are using PLM to boost their efficiency and product quality, at a time when teams are increasingly forced to collaborate remotely.

The recording of the first five webinars of the series, Introduction to Windchill PLM and the Digital Thread, Windchill for Product Data Management, Sharing Information Outside of Engineering with ThingWorx Navigate, How to Manage your BOMs in Windchill and Closed Loop Quality with Windchill are available for those of you who missed it – read on for the highlights of the final webinar of the series, Improving Internal and External Collaboration with Windchill.

To begin, LEAP’s PTC Technical Manager Allan Thompson explains how Windchill’s core content management capabilities and the ability of organisations to utilise them as a ‘single source of truth’ facilitates collaboration across departments outside of engineering and beyond. Allan then briefly discusses core features that enable this collaboration including:

  • BOM management tools
  • xBOM transformation
  • Enterprise visualisation, validation and review
  • ThingWorx Navigate View
  • AR Design Share

Next, Allan gives a detailed live demonstration of some of Windchill’s key collaboration tools covered in the clip above and shows how different data from within Windchill can be shared in different ways with a variety of stakeholders from both inside and outside of the organisation.

Finally, Allan wraps up the webinar and the series with a look at the numerous companies around the world using Windchill to improve their end-to-end product design processes including a detailed case study from Volvo Group who have selected PTC’s Creo, Windchill, ThingWorx and Servigistics solutions to drive Virtual Product Data Management, resulting in improved global collaboration.
